ERIC MILLER Annual Memorial Lecture ON Saturday 20th March 2010 AT 11.45am to 3.00pm Registration and Refreshments THE AMBASSADORS HOTEL, 12 UPPER WOBURN PLACE, LONDON WC1H 0HX ‘Seeing The Connections The Eric Miller Annual Memorial Lecture JEAN REED Jean is a senior organisational analyst at The Grubb Institute, where she has worked as a member of the professional staff and as a manager for over forty years. She works nationally and internationally in the world of organisational analysis and group relations, and has in-depth experience of action research projects in community settings in the UK and Ireland. She is a faculty member of the Institute’s MA in Organisational Analysis, and contributes to other university programmes and workshops. Jean will talk about ‘the dynamics of accompaniment in our inter-connected world.’ In doing so she will ask: How does a community organise itself and its resources to respond to the marginalized in a rapidly changing social and economic environment? How is leadership understood and exercised in a process of accompaniment? The presentation will reflect on fourteen years of engagement with a community initiative in Ireland, and explore the significance of connectedness, working with emergence, the different roles needed to help the links to be made, and the importance of faith and spirituality in the process of transformation. The Lecture will formally end at 2.00pm, after which you are cordially invited to join our guests for drinks and snacks until 3.00pm.
