In our series of Online International Listening Posts we are pleased to announce an online Listening Post for the first time hosted by ORION GRID, Bulgaria. Orion Grid for Leadership and Authority is a psychoanalytically informed NGO with the committment to foster democracy. The situation in Bulgaria is characterized by the country being the poorest and by corruption most affected EU Member State while at the same time the country is positioned strategically between the West and the East and is thus a cosmopolitan society. Currenty political and social unrest is expressed in widespread protests against the government. It is therefore a most relevant place to study underlying dynamics in the society, especially in the difficult time of a pandemie.
Listening Posts are an opportunity to think and make sense of our experiences of society by studying the unconscious dynamics that may be present ‘beneath the surface’. The themes emerge in an exchange of participants taking up their citizen role. The premise is that the small group of participants acts as a microcosm of the wider society, offering a ‘snapshot’ of it at a particular moment. To read more about Listening Posts click here.
