Simon Tucker to stand down
I regret to announce that Simon Tucker, OPUS Executive Director has decided to stand down.
Simon will shortly be relocating his family; this change coupled with his on-going consultancy and teaching work have meant he will not be able to allocate the necessary time to OPUS matters. His resignation will be effective from 23rd October 2015.
OPUS Chairman Steve Oram said ‘We are saddened that Simon has felt he is unable to continue in his role as OPUS Executive Director but we understand his position and reluctantly accept his resignation. We thank him for his sterling voluntary work for OPUS over 10 years including his time as Chair of the Committee for Public Events, Deputy Director and latterly as Executive Director. We wish him well in the future. We are pleased he will continue to be an OPUS Associate and that he will attend OPUS events wherever possible’.
Expressions of interest in the first instance are invited for the vacancy of OPUS Executive Director. The position is a voluntary one and the successful applicant will work closely with the Chairman, Treasurer and Policy Adviser.
At a later date, we may seek formal applications from some of those expressing an interest, including a brief CV (no more than two pages) and a cover letter explaining why your skills and knowledge suit the position.
Please send expressions of interest in confidence to Steve Oram, Chairman, OPUS via email to steve.oram1918@gmail.com or by post to him at Spindleberry, Marlow Road, Bourne End, Bucks SL8 5NL. You are also welcome to call him on 07882 326915 for more details.
In the interim, Lionel Stapley, former OPUS Executive Director and currently Policy Adviser to the Board will be acting Executive Director.
